But models without measurement are just elegant speculation.

But in one crucial sense, it is still forensics:

I would still sequence everything I could.

Genome. Transcriptome. Mutation landscape. Expression state.

That matters.

But genomics tells you what the code says.
It does not directly tell you what the living system is doing under perturbation.
